The aroma of the wine is bright, refreshing, with elegant notes of citrus fruits, touches of hazelnuts and almonds. The bouquet is also decorated with nuances of candied fruits and light mineral accents. The wine has a complex, rich and seductive taste. It is dominated by tones of white peach and apricot, while nuances of honey and floral touches complement the flavor palette, developing into a simultaneously sweet and fresh aftertaste. Ca’ Marcanda, “Vistamare” is the first white wine from the Ca’ Marcanda estate. “Vistamare” means “sea view”. The playful and carefree name of the wine is inspired by the cheerful sun, gentle sea breeze and serenity of the Tuscan coast. The eponymous Vistamare vineyard is located on a hillside overlooking the Tyrrhenian coast. The first vintage of “Vistamare” was released by Angelo Gaia in 2009. The 2016 blend consists of Vermentino and Viognier grapes. During the production process, each variety is fermented separately. Vermentino is fermented in steel vats, and Viognier is fermented in oak barrels. In the same containers, young wines are aged for six months and then mixed.
