“Vulcaia Fume” Sauvignon del Veneto is a very pleasant fruity wine with powerful tropical fruit tones and an oily, enveloping texture. The grapes for this wine are grown on volcanic soils of basaltic lava with southern and southeastern exposure in Soave and Monteforte d’Alpone at an altitude of 150 meters above sea level. The average age of the vines is 15 years. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place in heavily toasted barriques (30% new). The wine is then aged in the same barrels for 6 months with regular bâtonnage every six weeks. After removal from the sediment, the wine is aged for another 6 months in stainless steel tanks. The wine is not filtered before bottling. The storage potential of the wine is 5-10 years. The wine is distinguished by a fresh, creamy, concentrated taste with a long, slightly phenolic aftertaste. The taste chord reveals notes of tropical and citrus fruits, shades of minerals. The aroma of the wine attracts with smoky nuances, shades of toasted bread, creamy lemon curd, silicon and honey, tones of tropical fruits, coffee, spices and flower petals.
