Description

The Tsar’s Wine. This most famous wine was created in 1876 to satisfy the refined taste of the Russian Tsar Alexander II, who particularly appreciated the wines of the Louis Roederer company and requested that the finest cuvée be reserved for him each year. To highlight its extraordinary character, this exceptional champagne is bottled in flat-bottomed crystal bottles. Since then, it has been called “crystal” (in French, “Cristal”), a precious material that beautifully reveals its transparency and luminosity. Absolutely harmonious. Cristal is produced only in the “best years,” when Chardonnay (approximately 40%) and Pinot Noir (approximately 60%) reach full maturity. This champagne is aged for six years in cellars, and after disgorging, it is left to rest for eight months. A symphony of purity and elegance. The remarkable quality of Cristal lies in its balance. It is distinguished by its noble purity and unrivaled longevity. Fruit aromas glimmer through the silky texture, supported by a mineral strength that evokes notes of white and citrus fruits. This champagne has a long shelf life—it can last for over twenty years without losing its freshness and character.
