Description
The wine is rounded and dense on the palate, very refined and silky. The main profile is ripe dark berries with neat oak, light floral notes, hints of undergrowth and vanilla. The tannins are fine, well-balanced, without being harsh. The finish is firm, dry, and clean, with a pleasant woody note. The aroma is generous and pure: cherry, black currant, blueberry, dark spices, and a touch of spice. Everything is clear, without being overpowering. The color is rich, garnet-cherry, with good depth. It pairs perfectly with appetizers, game, baked and roasted meats, lamb, duck, and aged cheeses. A blend of three grape varieties from the Côtes du Rhône appellation, the vines are approximately 35 years old. Aging for 18 months in oak barrels provides structure and balance. It has a cellaring potential of up to 8 years. This is a very correct, honest Côtes du Rhône in the style of E. Guigal – consistent quality even in the affordable segment.
