Description
The aroma is complex and multifaceted, with tones of cherry, dried fruit, violet, wet earth and minerals. The taste is very drinkable, expressively fruity, with a delicate spicy note, well-integrated, round tannins, fresh acidity and a pleasant, dry finish. “Karas” Areni-Sireni Reserve is a dry red wine made from a blend of two grape varieties – Areni and Sireni (Khndohni). The vineyard terroir is characterized by a mountainous continental climate with hot summers and cold, dry winters. The soils are heavy, rocky, and of volcanic origin. The harvest is harvested by hand in October in small boxes of 20 kg. The grapes are carefully sorted twice, separated from the ridges and subjected to separate cold maceration. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures in steel vats. Then malolactic fermentation takes place. Areni is aged in amphorae, and Lilac is aged in Armenian oak barrels for 6 months. Before bottling, the wines are mixed and filtered.
