The first historical references to Castello de Gabbiano date back to the 11th century. At that time, a square tower was built to protect one of the most important communication routes between Florence and Siena. The construction of the wine cellar began in 1124. At that time, the castle belonged to one of the most important banking families in Florence, the Bardi, who in the second half of the 13th century began expanding the fortress and added crenellated walls in the Guelph style. Chianti Classico DOCG has a smooth texture and a rich, refreshing taste, in which blackcurrant tones are harmoniously complemented by spicy notes. The elegant aroma of the wine combines floral shades of wild violets and roses with notes of vanilla and blackcurrant jam.
