The wine has a bright ruby-red color. The restrained aroma of the wine is woven with notes of red and black currants, gooseberries, plums, cherries, and underbrush. The wine boasts a rich, well-balanced, juicy, and elegant taste with an ideal balance between fruity and woody, acidic, and tannic components. The lingering aftertaste is prolonged and dry.
Albert Bichot, Bourgogne “Vieilles Vignes de Pinot Noir” AOC is a powerful, generous red wine made from Pinot Noir grapes, which symbolize the elegance and refinement of Burgundy. The vineyards are located in Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. The diversity of terroirs is the foundation of the exquisite aromatic complexity of this wine. The venerable age of the vines (25 to 30 years) imparts a special aromatic concentration to the wine, revealing a frank and typical taste. The vineyard soils are clay-limestone.
The harvest is manually collected in small boxes of 25 kg each. At the winery, the berries undergo meticulous sorting, and only selected fruits are used in crafting this wine. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks and conical-shaped oak vats for 18-25 days. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks (70-80%) and oak barrels (20-30%) for 8-12 months. The aging potential of Bourgogne “Vieilles Vignes de Pinot Noir” is estimated to be 3-5 years.
